Ten NFL Draft Prospects to Watch

Adrian Clayborn

Adrian Clayborn headlines a list of ten NCAA players for a Patriots fan to watch for the 2011 NFL Draft.

With all of the 2010 Draft Picks signed and in camp, it is officially time for NEPD to start focusing on the 2011 NFL Draft.  We’re going to start things off by giving Patriots fans 10 NFL Draft Prospects to watch that would fit in the New England system and fill some immediate or future needs.

Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Dominant, versatile defensive lineman that could help the Patriots in multiple sets.

Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, UNC (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Incredibly athletic and quick defender that would be  ideally suited for the Patriots 3-4 OLB position.

Jeremy Beal, DE/OLB, Oklahoma (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Strong defender that should hold up well against the run if playing at the 3-4 OLB spot, while still applying pressure to the QB.

Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Five-technique defensive end prospect that will remind you of Ty Warren, very balanced against the pass/run.

Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pitt (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: A truly dynamic downfield threat that has decent hands and great leaping ability.

AJ Green, WR, Georgia (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Simply the best receiver prospect in the draft – the Raiders would have to be pretty bad for the Patriots to get a crack at picking Green.

Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Big guy (6-3/220) with great hands, with pro-style system experience.

Mike Pouncey, OL, Florida (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Solid interior lineman that has the ties (Florida) that Belichick loves.

Clint Boling, OL, Georgia (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: Solid footwork and good technique could make Georgia LT Boling a nice guard prospect at the NFL level.

Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama (Scouting Report)
Why to Watch: With no running backs on the roster yet for next year, might as well shoot for the best RB out there.

Very excited to see Clayborn and Heyward get after it. Patriots need another good 5-tech.
