i dont necassarily like the eye poking thing….but i remember a certain captain Vince doin the same thing to Brandon Jacobs when the Pats went 18-1. Il take the nastiness, after leadership….nastiness would have been 1st on my to-do list if i was BB going into this past offseason.

Spikes could easily be another great linebacker pickup for the Patriots — versatile player that can be used rushing the passer to mask his coverage weaknesses.

Every year going into April, I start figuring out who BB might be looking to fill holes on his team with the draft. The Pats are, if not THE hardest, one of the hardest teams to predict on draft-day. But two years ago, my number one guy was Mayo, then last year, it was Darius Butler, this year, it was Brandon Spikes. A couple of things just seemed right…

BB and Meyer are BFF’s
Pats needed another MLB
Pats needed leadership
Pats had a pile of 2nd round picks
Spikes’ stock fell due to a 40 yd dash time

With those factors…i was waiting to here the name Brandon somewhere in the 2nd round when the pats were on the clock. And i cheared just as loud when i heard the pick…then any time during last season.

PS. for the record, i wanted them to take Gronkowski and Hernandez this April also.
