Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson (Junior)
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 311
Grade: 6.8 (Grading Scale)
Hands: 9 5/8″ Arms: 32 5/8″ Wingspan: 77 7/8″
Film Room Notes: vs Virginia Tech, vs Florida State
Strengths: Powerful frame, good size, length, and bulk – Explosive first step, very quick off the snap – Great work rate on the field, always pursuing and fighting – Uses his hands incredibly well – Has the strength and initial quickness to easily overwhelm a center or guard – Incredible potential – Can dominate a game.
Weaknesses: Might only be a 1-gap DT/Nose – Isn’t a dynamic pass-rusher, but will flush the QB by pushing the pocket – Needs to shed blockers better after an initial loss – Average against double teams, will need to improve this at the next level.
