Taylor Price’s long wait to join the Patriots is finally over. After the Ohio Bobcats (finally) hold their 2010 commencement ceremonies today, the Patriot’s 3rd-round pick can officially suit up for organized team activities (OTA’s). Due to an NFL rule, rookies aren’t allowed to attend OTA’s until their college has held graduation.
Price has a lot of, well, catching up to do. After missing the initial three weeks of off-season practices, he needs to start the process of building trust and rapport with Tom Brady. Torry Holt, and the other Patriot rookies, have already had that chance.
At this point, Price looks to be a long-shot to start opposite Randy Moss on opening day. Holt, Sam Aiken, and the recovering Brandon Tate seem to have the inside track for the outside receiver position. Julian Edelman an Wes Welker, meanwhile, have the slot positions locked up.
Look for Price to attach himself to Moss, Holt and Brady for the rest of the off-season, to try and make up for lost time.
