Patriots Work Out TE Nate Byham

The Patriots held a private workout with Pittsburgh tight end Nate Byham earlier this month. The best blocking TE in the draft, Byham has a big frame (6-4/270) that he uses to open up holes in the run game.

Byham is no Antonio Gates, but he can catch the ball. He totaled 2 touchdowns his senior season to along with over 250 yards in receiving.

Byham is regarded as a 3rd day selection in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Patriots currently have a large need at the TE position, with Alge Crumpler as the only viable starter.

If the Patriots need a great tight end, Nate is the man for them. Not only is he a tremendous athlete, but he’s also a team player with one of the best personalities there is. He will be an asset to whatever team picks him up.

Sounds like a plan…we’ll have the picks and the luxury to take a player like this. I like it.
