The Patriots have scheduled a private workout a visit with Syracuse defensive lineman Arthur Jones. The oft-injured Orangeman hopes to be fully recovered from a devestating knee and pictoral injuries that kept him out of much of the 2009 season. The Patriots medical staffers are presumably kicking the tires to see if the injuries are serious or not.
With Jones’ large frame (6-3/301), it would seem that he would be a good prospect for the 5-technique position, where he could excel in creating tackles for loss – of which he had over 30 in a short college career.
Look for Jones to be a 4th-5th round pick due to injury concerns.
