McCluster Works Out for Patriots

According to Albert Breer, the Patriots will be flying down to Ole Miss to workout Dexter McCluster, the 170 pound versatile running back.

McCluster dropped down draft boards after a disappointing 40-yard dash time at the NFL combine, but his 4.4 time at his pro day, along with a prodigous amount of good tape, has helped scouts forget about that one-off performance.

McCluster, who could play RB or WR for most NFL teams, is slated to be picked late in the 2nd round or the early 3rd round of the NFL Draft.

McCluster’s 40 at the combine was flawed. He even admitted that his start was not in good form, which cost him a tenth of a second and then some in his 40 time (4.56). He ran a 4.43 with NFL scouts in attendance at his Pro Day to go with his 4.03 3-cone time which was tops among all tailbacks and receivers, so it’s not like anyone didn’t know that he could blaze. He’s tough as nails too. He bench pressed more weight at the combine than most of the tailbacks who were far bigger than him. He’s dynamite waiting to explode for some NFL offense. I just hope it’s with my Patriots.

This would be a great pick, Also grabbing Bryant in the 1st. Patriots with all the picks they own could make both trades with teams to land them both and pick-up great d-line players in the 2nd round.
