NFL Power Rankings Week 8

The 2009 NFL Power Rankings Week 8 edition features some close calls at the top of the pile, and another Patriot beatdown.

The Elite: The Vikings had a tough game on Sunday, as they should have won were it not for 14 defensive points for the Steelers. The Bengals, Colts, and Patriots all looked like world-beaters, while the Saints had to work for it.

1. Indianapolis Colts
2. New Orleans Saints
3. Denver Broncos
4. Minnesota Vikings
5. New England Patriots
6. Cincinnati Bengals
7. Pittsburgh Steelers
8. New York Giants

The Contenders: The Steelers are back on track, and the Texans and Dolphins (2-4?) still look dangerous. The Eagles looked good against a terrible Redskins team.

9. Baltimore Ravens
10. New York Jets
11. Atlanta Falcons
12. Arizona Cardinals
13. Dallas Cowboys
14. Houston Texans
15. Philadelphia Eagles
16. Miami Dolphins

The Wannabes: The Packers beat up the Browns and the Bears got embarrassed. The Bills just won’t go away, and the Chargers still look pesky.

17. Green Bay Packers
18. San Diego Chargers
19. San Francisco 49ers
20. Chicago Bears
21. Buffalo Bills
22. Seattle Seahawks
23. Jacksonville Jaguars
24. Carolina Panthers

Al Davis and Friends:
All 8 of these teams are so bad, I haven’t heard the word “parity” this year yet.

25. Oakland Raiders
26. Cleveland Browns
27. Kansas City Chiefs
28. Washington Redskins
29. Detroit Lions
30. Tennessee Titans
31. Tampa Bay Bucs
32. St. Louis Rams

The Colts have only played junior varsity teams? Are you serious? The Cards? Jacksonville? Seattle? Miami? Those are good teams, despite their a few of their records. At least the Colts D didn’t allow Miami to score more than 24 points. NO D is a little suspect the last couple of weeks.

Who in their right mind puts the Colts above the Saints right now? The Colts have played nothing but junior varsity teams this year…give me a break.

This may sound weird but I think the Bengals should be higher then the Patriots. Yes, Bengals being good does sound weird, but they’re better then the Patriots this year, so far at least. The Bengals have had a way harder schedule and the only team they really respectively lost to was the Houston Texans, who played extremely great. Take away the fluke tip from the Broncos this team should really be 6-1, better then the Patriots.

The Lions are much better than the other 7 teams in the bottom 8.I see them ending in the low teens by the end of this season.

What do you mean? The Bucs and Titans looked pretty frisky…

Did you just say these rankings disrespect the Patriots? Are you serious? The way the Patriots jumped up the rankings after running up the score on two terrible teams is disrespectful to all those teams that were ahead of them and also won this week

The Patriots are way to high in these rankings, and why are they called Week 8? I
