After what was seemingly a year-long (or 1 week) holdout, Richard Seymour will be reporting to the Oakland Raiders just in time to hopefully in Monday Night’s opener – right after watching his old team on Monday Night Football.
According to Adam Schefter, (via @adam_schefter) Seymour will receive no promises to renegotiate his contract or not place the franchise tag on him next year.
Seymour, the former Patriot All-Pro, had been sent a “5-day letter”, forcing him to report within five days or risk having to sit out the entire 2009 NFL season.
The Patriots will receive a 2011 1st Round Draft Pick in exchange for Richard Seymour. Check out the list of 2011 Patriots Draft Picks here. Get NE Patriots Draft Sent By E-Mail!

With another underwhelming coming, the Raiders’ 1st round pick could very well be top 6. Increasing injuries and psych issues looming on the horizon, this is a good move by the Pats.
That is true… we will be happy about in April/May of 2011 though.
Richard Seymour reporting to the Raiders. Words I never thought I would have to type.
