Mock drafts have obviously become a ubiquitous part of the NFL draft experience. While a single mock may not show much, there is a bit of wisdom in looking at the collective consciousness of NFL draftniks across the globe.
Here is what the "experts" have to say:
Reuter's pick: Clay Matthews, USC, LB
SportsNation's pick: Clay Matthews, USC, LB
Todd McShay's pick: Clay Matthews, USC, LB
The Judge's pick: Clay Matthews, USC, LB
Pat Kirwan's pick: Clay Matthews, USC, LB
Mel Kiper's pick: Donald Brown, UConn, RB
Don Banks' pick: Darius Butler, UConn, CB
Rob Rang's pick: Darius Butler, UConn, CB
Rick Gosselin's pick: Rey Maualuga, USC, LB
Pete Prisco's pick: Brian Cushing, USC, LB
According to the Mock Draft Database:
23% have the Patriots taking USC Linebacker Clay Matthews Jr.
66% have the Patriots taking a LB
58% have the Patriots taking a USC LB
16% have the Patriots taking a DB
86% have the Patriots taking a defensive player
14% have the Patriots taking an offensive player

Who will the Patriots Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft? Nobody has a clue dude.
I would be pissed if the Pats took Matthews. MAYBIN is the man.
I do not like Matthews either. He can not play the outside in the Pats system. I would much rather take an OL, WR or TE over Matthews...
Take Larry English here even if it is a bit high.
I would love to have Maybin, or Everette Brown still on the boards.
Obviously we need to go defense, but DE/OLB over anyother position, but it is true with BB you never know what to expect...
