James Sanders Resigns with Patriots

The first dividends of the Matt Cassel trade have now been realized. With the $18 million dollars in cap room created, James Sanders has become the first player re-signed, inking a 3-year deal on March 1st.

The 25 year old safety has played with the Patriots since 2005, when he was drafted out of Fresno State. He is projected to start alongside Brandon Meriweather, unless further moves shake up the defensive depth chart.

According to Reiss’ Pieces, Sanders turned down more money to stay with the Patriots. You have to love guys that put winning and loyalty ahead of the glitz and glamour.

  1. James is a WINNER, one of those rare players who is a coach out there. He needs to be on the field as much as possible to make great things happen!
