After a failed experiment with the San Francisco 49ers, the Patriots have re-signed OLB Tully Banta-Cain. Cain was originally drafted by the Patriots in the 7th round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He parlayed some quality backup play and pass rush ability into a good contract in San Fran. Ultimately though, it seems like he is more adept in a defensive package like the Patriots.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but speculation states that it is a one-year deal. You can read more from Reiss at his blog.

Tully Sucked for the niners, but maybe banta-cain can regain his mojo for the pats
The niners wanted Tully to be something that he wasn't, an every down backer in the NFL. They tried to use him as run-stopping, coverage backer and that is just no who he is. He'll come back to New England's 3-4 as a third down LB that can explode rushing off the edge and rack up 8-10 sacks helping their suddenly weak pass rush.
