I think they send a low-level guy over from Tokyo who has never been outside of Japan before in his life to head up the advertising campaigns in the US. Between trying to figure out why his crappy American cell phone has no cool features and why he's not allowed to grope schoolgirls on the subway, he picks out "Option #2" from a bunch of giant posterboards that somebody shoves at him, mainly because it is "fast-go-zoom", and then heads out to an ex-pat sake bar.
