Tom Brady Will Play Opening Day

Words from Tom Brady will be helping New England Patriots fans worldwide sleep a little easier tonight. “If I don’t play Thursday, when the Patriots play the Giants in their preseason finale, then I’ll be ready for Kansas City,” Brady said during an interview on Boston Radio Station WEEI.

Brady has missed the previous three preseason games, where the Patriots couldn’t get anything going on offense. Backup quarterbacks Matt Cassel, Kevin O’Connell and Matt Guttierez all saw extended playing during camp, giving the coaching staff ample footage to figure the pecking order behind Brady.

Due to reports of Brady practicing with the team, speculation all along was that Brady is ready to go, but that the Pats were being overly cautious with their franchise quarterback.
