Patriots Sign Six to Practice Squad
With cut time rapidly approaching, the New England Patriots front-office staff will begin to determine who their targets are for the Practice Squad -- players must clear waivers before being placed on the squad. The eligibilty requirements are a bit convoluted, but with some great work by patchick at patsfans.com, here are the rules:
- Player must not have an accrued season (or were inactive seven or more times during the accrued season)
- Player must not have been on a practice squad for more than three years
- During third year on practice squad, player must be added to 53-man squad if a spot opens up
- OL -- Jimmy Martin
- DB -- Antwain Spann
- S/WR -- Raymond Ventrone
- OL -- Dan Connolly
- CB -- Mike Richardson
- QB -- Matt Gutierrez
- DT -- Titus Adams
- CB -- Jeff Shoate

Raymond Ventrone is Troy Smith light, I hope he makes the active roster.
Jimmy Martin will never clear waivers. He has played very well in the first two preseason games.
