good mock

With the addition of Jared Allen, the Vikings have depth at the DE position and probably won't go after one in the second round. Viking needs (outside of QB anyways) would be OT,TE, and CB since there are suspensions, underachievers, or potential retirement respectively at those positions in the upcoming year.

Anonymous said...

Love the Shonn Greene to the Lions pick, he's freakin amazing!

Anonymous said...

how does the raiders drafting a TE n the second round make any sense at all they have zach miller how keeps getting better and better

James said...

I hear the NFL will allow 2 TE's in at the same time next year.

Anonymous said...

I was all in favor of the Chiefs taking a QB this year but I'm not liking any of them unless Colt McCoy declares.Don't see them winning another game either with LJ out. They'll be picking higher and need to go with an OT like Oher.I could also see them trading back a few spots for more picks.

Anonymous said...

WHERE'S TREVARD LINDLEY? this dude is a FREAKING beast, he can cover anybody, Julio Jones- Done, AJ Green- out of the game. When Georgia threw that TD, Lindley was out of the game. one of the top 3 corners in the nation. without a doubt, Kentucky's best player, I just pray that he actually does stay for his senior year.

Please do some research before you put together such an embarrassing mock. Seriously sad. You give the Bucs Duke when they have have 2 of the best young guards in the league, you put Curry late in the 2nd when he will be a top 10 pick, Knowshon in the 2nd when he might be the best RB in college, come on man. This is sad, you should quit.

Anonymous said...

where would you project Chase Coffman

Anonymous said...

Horrible Oakland Raiders draft. There is no way the Raiders come out of the first two rounds without a OT or WR... maybe even both. No way the Raiders go TE in round two with Zach Miller already on board.

Anonymous said...

there is noway tebow goes in the first round let alone in the top 15

Anonymous said...

Seattle with two WR picks... funny.

Anonymous said...

So you have the pats taking a nose tackle and a tight with their first two picks. No chance. The Pats cant afford to draft the best player available anymore. Their secondary and linebackers are thin to say the least. Not even mentioning the offense line

Anonymous said...

The Lions without a QB pick in the first 2 rounds??? You have got to be kidding?? Are you Matt Millen?

James said...

I'd expect Matt Cassel to be wearing a Lion Uni next year, thus no QB pick

Anonymous said...

its ok...no way orakpo and sen'derrick marks go that late, and there is no chance that the lions AND chiefs skip on a qb in the first couple picks

Anonymous said...

WHy would the Lions and chiefs take a chance on somebody that high, when they go out and get Matt Cassel, Kerry Collins, Kurt Warner?

Anonymous said...

No go with King to the Bills....with Orakpo going in the first rd their D Line is set......They would either go TE but the top two are gone so LB....give us Spikes from FLA...or CB Smith from Wake Forest would be better fit their

Anonymous said...

Colt McCoy said he is stayin his senior year so you can mark that pick off

Anonymous said...

I agree with what that one guy said about the Pats. They need LB's and CB's. Watson and Thomas still have one more year left on their contracts, so I doubt they'll go TE early.

Here's my first 3 picks for them:

1st- Brian Cushing, DE/SOLB, USC
2nd- Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest
2nd (from SD)- Rashad Johnson, FS, Alabama

Anonymous said...

The Steelers not taking an O-lineman in the first 2 rounds? I would re-think that if I were you. Nice site though.

Anonymous said...

I can't see the Patriots drafting ILB in the 2nd round. Track record shows they don't like drafting LBs in the high rounds even though they hit the jackpot with Mayo. Brushi's replacement is already on their roster...Gary Guyton.

Anonymous said...

How do you not have Chase Cofman the Best tight end to play the game (stats wise) not in the first two rounds better hands than any other tightend in the draft an id say better hands than most wide recivers including maclin and Bay beckham and hill will not go in front of him and i dont think pettigrew should either

Anonymous said...

Pettigrew at #46??? This guy is top 20 easy!!!!!

Anonymous said...

The Broncos have more pressing needs besides a CB or RB. They WILL go S or DT in the first round and best available S, DT, or MLB in second(which there pick is at 44 not 48). There not going to reach for an offensive player until at least the 3rd, maybe the fourth round. The rest of the draft doesn't look bad.

Anonymous said...

No chance Detroit goes offense with their second round pick. They have way to many defensive needs
If they pick a corner with the 20th pick then they go LB or DE no TE

Anonymous said...

@ Last comment: Broncos do pick at 48, not 44. If you are first among the 8-8's in the 1st round, you are last in the 2nd.

Ian said...

No way the Eagles take a WR or a DE in the first round. They are pretty much set at both positions.

Anonymous said...

bengals wouldnt take a CB in the second round with 2 first rounders already starting and david jones playing well enough as a nickelback. hopefully they will take a LB or a C. but because Mike Brown makes the decisions it will be a stupid pick.

Anonymous said...

Why doesn't the NFL disband the embarrassment known as the Detroit Lions?

Anonymous said...

Makes no sense for the Vikings, Mt. McKinnie is either play RT or LT next season, and if he isn't, he is traded and we have another late first or early second from him. We wouldn't pick two OT's, doesn't make any sense.

Anonymous said...

This draft is hilariously stupid! Jason Smith going 52nd? He is a Top 10 prospect in my book.

Anonymous said...

Love if the broncos pick up Curry and got a good running back in the 2nd.

Anonymous said...

Why would the bengals need to overhaul the defense that finished 12 last year? Agreed that the d is a work in progress but their secondary is fine. Johnathan Joseph (2006 1st rd pick) is the corner opposite of Leon Hall and he is good. The D needs OLB, DE for qb pressure, not CB.

Rd 2, bengals go DE or Center. I agree with OT in rd 1.

Anonymous said...

If Mack is there at #32, the Steelers will take him. If not, Max Unger. Both are Centers who can play all three line positions.

Look for Pittsburgh to go OL in Round 2, but also try and sign one solid vet FA on the OL (Gross?) and DL (Olshansky)!

If they let their FAs go, they can pick up about $10 Mil in cap space to go with the almost $25Mil they have currently. That should produce two veteran free agents.

Anonymous said...

I do not see Michael Johnson go 5th to the Browns!

I also question the Patriots picking a CB this early. In my eyes one has to question whether D.J. Moore stand out over Darius Butler and Coye Francies. A 3-4 OLB (in a great class) would make a lot more sense value-wise. I would love if they went for Larry English who had a great Senior Bowl week and fit what the Pats do on defense perfectly. Unger is a good value pick though.

Anonymous said...

Moreno falling out of the first round is highly unlikely and i doubt Shonn Greene goes before him and McCoy

Anonymous said...

Stop the smart ass anti Raider remarks in your column

Anonymous said...

Chris Wells?

Anonymous said...

Round 2 pick for the Bengals -- Mike Mickens? Why would fans be happy and why do we need to "overhaul" a Defense that finished 12 the in the league last year. We picked Jonathan Joseph and Leon Hall in the last 2 first rounds. being a Bengal fan I would bet my life they don't go secondary in the 2nd round unless a big name drops.

Anonymous said...

A Bronco fan here. I think most people around here will be disappointed with a CB on day one (much less the 1st round). And your man Josh McDaniel better get some meat for the predicted 3-4 defense in one of the first two rounds. Heck, we need some meat regardless of the defensive scheme. You have Rey Maualuga, James Laurinaitis, and BJ Raji all available at the 12 pick. If he lets all of these guys slide in favor of a CB it will make the Clarett flyer look like a…ok that would still look pretty bad. But, I think you need to give this some consideration or run the risk of having me say I told you so. Can you really risk that?

Anonymous said...

By far the most reasonable draft I have seen on the web. The only problem I have is drafting Sanchez, just because I know he won't be there in the 2nd round. Chung or Max Unger will be a better pick in the second round. Chung filling a much needed impact position for the Lions. If they draft these three players maybe the defense can get off the field once in a while next year.

Anonymous said...

No way Percy Harvin slips into the 2nd round.

Anonymous said...

I like the Barwin pick for NE at #34, but I see maybe Sean Smith and Brian Robiskie as the other second rounders. I also think BB will cross everybody up and go O-line at #23.

Anonymous said...

first 2 picks for lions a-1. If both available at pick #33 and Lions looking for a qb would prefer Freeman. But would rather see cook-te, unger or mack -ol, or Mathews-lb. Forget the qb till 2010 and fix the trenches. still some fa qb,s available ala Anderson from Cincy

Anonymous said...

Good first pick for the Bengals considering who was off the board. We will be extremely lucky if Alex Mack falls to us in the 2nd; it'll probably be the quickest pick ever, other than the Jags and Panthers 1st rounders in '03.

Anonymous said...

It would be tough for NE to go for 2 safeties in the first two rounds. CB yes, but safety no.

Anonymous said...

It would be tough for NE to go for 2 safeties in the first two rounds. CB yes, but safety no.

Admin said...

Who has them drafting 2 safeties? You have Butler as a Safety?

Anonymous said...

Panthers will not draft Nate Davis over pat White..........he opens up a roster spot by playign QB/WR.........until he wins the starting QB posistion out right.

florida ted said...

Will Coach BB trade the patriots #1 to KC for a number 1 next year????I think its a real possibility..3 second rounders are a bonanza for NFL coaches plenty of tallent not first round draft pick salaries don't forget this is a business fans...Don't be surprised if Percy H is a Pariot also special player and can play more than one possition he is a running back that can play WR bill b's favorite multipoistional

Anonymous said...

I think this is a horrible mock draft. You have one starting LB under 30. We trade Vrabel and Teddy is a 1 maybe 2 back down and you think we are getting an Safety first?

Admin said...

Mayo, Guyton, Bruschi (2 down), Adalius Thomas, Pierre Woods, Connor Barwin (per this mock), Vincent Redd... what am I missing? Those guys sound pretty good to me...

Anonymous said...

the patriots should draft a running back because marony sucks and we need someone lie a javon ringer

florida ted said...

With the abundance of draft picks this year look for coach BB to trade the first rounder for a first and something else for next years draft. 6 picks in the top 100 thats unbeleivable. Please no Peppers here too damb expensive not worth the money and long term contract. Would rather see rookies from draft. Every name coach BB mentions on the rafio or newsprint disreguard the Patriots do not divulge the names of potential draft picks just a mirror game.

Anonymous said...

pats bbblow stink are ugly and i hate them!!!!!

Anonymous said...

64 his name is Duke Robinson ,not Richardson. I feel 4 you uys though. Every year you need to learn just about three-hundred new names. Peace.

Admin said...

Yep, we're dorks.

Anonymous said...

Would NE entertain a trade for Rd#1 #12-9 overall pick for #34,47,58?

susan said...

No way the Pats take Delmas with Ray M still on the board. Also - no way Conner lasts until the Pats 2nd 2nd Round pick. Do think the Pats will take an OT early though.

Anonymous said...

patriots could trade Marroney.....

Anonymous said...

No WR for the Giants in the 1st or 2nd round? Impossible.

Anonymous said...

No way the Browns pass on a former Browns Kid if he is STILL available with their first pk in the 2nd Rd.

Anonymous said...

are you kidding me. the pats pick a safty. for oone the have meriweather and just signed a james sanders to an extention. plus the college safteys suck in this years draft!!!!!!!! this site is 100% wrong

Anonymous said...

As a panther's fan, I must let you know J. Fox is loyal to J. Delhomme to the death. Panther's fans are mixed on whether Delhomme is the answer, but there is NO WAY the panther's take a QB with their 1st pick. Corner, DT/DE and OL depth are much more pressing needs. Regardless, only 1 team scouted N. Davis @ his pro day, the colts. If I were picking I would take D. Robinson or P. Loadholt if either are available. I dont know if anyone seen oklahoma's offense last season, those two guys are the main reasons their offense was so prolific. Both fit the panthers style of pounding the rock. The panthers have had some good drafts in the past years, mostly going with BPA. With that said, I think the panthers take the best available DB. Larry Fitzgerald made sure of that in January.

Anonymous said...

this year you guy have your pick little off!

jade said...

Patriots need to get julius peppers from carolina. Then sign Brian cushing with mayo and brusci and there defense will be killer. then sign a saftey and there's your defence. While you hope brady comes back 100 percent and brady and moss and welker get the patriots back to the super bowl with the 3 hardest schedule in the leuage.

Anonymous said...

Ahhh - nice try but don't the Pats are going to draft Delmar in 1st rd, also Barwin appears overhyped. Just cause he plays same positions Vrable doesn't mean the Pats will draft him. Vrable was a pro bowl LB, Barwin is a work in progress. I do like the DT/OL picks in Rd 2 though - can definitely see the Pats leaning that way.

Anonymous said...

Michael Crabtree falling to #19....no way!

duck89152 said...

who moves inside to help mayo though? in the first round if maualuga is there the pats wont hesitate to draft him. then they can grab the OLB in the second. otherwise it would be mayo and bruschi who is too old to start now

Anonymous said...

love the Michael Johnson pick for the Rams in round 2. Rams please listen to this man.

Anonymous said...

Are you crazy because buffalo isn't drafting a safety and CB in the first two rounds.

Anonymous said...

If they draft a OT with pick #11, Buffalo still has glaring needs at DE,OG,OLB, and C. Their greatest depth is at Corner and Safety, yet you have them selecting a Safety with the 28th pick and a CB at #42. You can bet the ranch that neither of those positions will be filled with picks in the first, second, OR third rounds.

Anonymous said...

I was on the Brown bandwagon earlier...but, because the pass rushing depth is so good, I've changed to either DL or OL in the 1st. For me, Oher makes a lot of sense at either LT or RT. In the 2nd, I'd go Brace, Barwin or Sidbury. Singletary wants an upgrade at NT and covets a pass rusher in a big way. I like Sidbury a lot because he can play DE and OLB. Not many guys his size can do both.

Anonymous said...

#59 Nate Davis...Are you kidding me? Only one team showed up to watch him @ his pro day, The Colts. Cmon, no one wants "Special Needs" QB. This has to be one of the smartest guys on the field. I SAY DE SIDBURY IS THE PICK IF HE IS AVAILABLE. According to your mock...he is. If he is gone, I can see CB Victor Harris as the pick.
